CKE 2016 proofs once again to be Asia’s leading B2B Event for the industry
6th edition of China Kids Expo proofs once again to be Asia’s leading B2B Event for the industry
• 65,467 trade visitors from China, Asia and all over the world
• More than 3,000 brands from more than 20 countries
• 3 days of pure B2B negotiations followed by 2 days of B2C business
On 21 October, China Kids Expo 2016 closed its doors in the Shanghai New International Expo Center setting new benchmarks in size, visitor numbers and international participation. 65,467 trade visitors from all over the world experienced the latest trends and product news by well-known international baby brands and Asian-Pacific manufacturers in childcare, toys and kidswear. The entire exhibition space exceeded 150,000 square meters with more than 1,700 exhibitors. The number of international exhibitors increased by 30% (cf. China Kids Expo 2015) featuring more than 500 brands from over 20 countries, including world-famous brands such as Combi, Kiddy, Pouch, CAM, Nuna, Joie, Britax, Pigeon, NUK and Cybex as well as national pavilions from Korea and Taiwan. China Kids Expo’s rapid increase of international participation was complemented by the attendance of China’s leading brands in the industry such as Goodbaby, Angel, Baby First, Rikang, Maky Poko, Alpha, Longchang, Kaiqi, Yonglang, Coolbaby, Golden Baby, Guanyi, Happy Baby and Ianbaby. Co-organised by China Toy & Juvenile Products Association and Koelnmesse, China Kids Expo is held every year concurrently with China Toy Expo, China International Licensing Show and CKE Education.
“We are very pleased with the progress of the event. According to first feedbacks from our exhibitors, the visitor structure perfectly matches with their requirements. The main reason why China Kids Expo made such huge steps in recent years becoming the country’s leading B2B platform for the industry is the different background of its organizers which ideally complement each other. Koelnmesse is the international expert for organizing trade fairs, including Kind + Jugend in Germany, and the China Toy and Juvenile Products Association has an unrivaled authority, network and expertise on the local market” said Hans Stoter, General Manager of Koelnmesse China.
This year’s edition attracted 65,467 trade visitors (ct. 60,618 China Kids Expo 2015) including China’s largest and most influential baby chain stores (Leyou, Lollipop, Baodaxiang, Aiyingdao, etc.), key online retailers (Tmall, RedBaby), supermarkets (Carrefour), department stores and shopping malls (Toys”R”Us, New China Children’s Store, Joy City, CRL Living Mall).
“The number of visitors and distributors has increased significantly. It was a good opportunity for us to present our new technologies and products”, Mr. Liu Baohua, Brand Manager of Britax, commented on his company’s participation.
“The three co-located exhibitions cover plenty of interesting brands, for us an ideal platform to source new products”, Ms. Xie Xiaoyun from Kunming Dengkang Child Care Articles Co., Ltd. summarised her impression as a visitor.
Much more than just an exhibition
China Kids Expo once again exemplified that it is much more than an exhibition. This year, the organisers initiated 18 concurrent activities which provide opportunities of face-to-face communications and business exchanges, including the “China Maternal and Infant Safety & New Commerce Forum” right inside the international hall W1 with various experts sharing hands-on facts and ideas about the industry’s hottest topics, the “World Trends in China – Global Innovative Products Showcase”, a showroom for renown brands to present their products for next year or the high-ranking annual “Buyers Roundtable” which this year provided selected exhibitors the chance to present their company and products for the first time.
Kids Fun Expo complements the trade fair with B2C business
For the first time the organizer complemented China Kids Expo’s strict business focus with two more show days (October 22-23) for the public under the label Kids Fun Expo. Part of the fairground opened its doors to young parents, kids, pregnant women and their entire families for product showcases and sales, informative forums as well as cheerful activities. Participating exhibitors from China Kids Expo therefore transformed their booths from a meeting place for business partners into attractive “brandscapes” for private customers.
This for Shanghai entirely new show concept braved the rainy weather during the two show days and attracted more than 65,000 visitors. The organizers plan to extend Kids Fun Expo in the future and provide more China Kids Expo exhibitors the opportunity to use this B2C platform for market research, direct branding and sales.
Both shows will return on 18-22 October 2017 (18-20 October China Kids Expo and 21-22 October Kids Fun Expo) expecting even more halls, more exhibitors and complementing concurrent activities.
