China Kids Expo reaffirms position as Asia’s leading B2B show for the juvenile

On October 22, 2015 China Kids Expo 2015 closed its doors in Shanghai New International Expo Center (2345 Longyang Road, Pudong New Area) setting new benchmarks in terms of size, visitor numbers and international participation. Co-organized by China Toy & Juvenile Products Association and Koelnmesse GmbH, China Kids Expo is held concurrently with China Toy Expo, China International Licensing Show and CKE Education.

The entire exhibition space exceeded 145,000 square meters with more than 1,500 exhibitors. Internationally the number of exhibitors increased by 30% (cf. China Kids Expo 2014) featuring more than 500 brands from more than 20 countries, including world-famous brands such as Chicco, Inglesina, Combi, Kiddy, Pigeon, NUK, Kids Land, Nuna, Joie, CAM, Pouch, Smitten Baby, STM, i-BABY, Zooper as well as national pavilions from Canada, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Korea and Taiwan.

China Kids Expo’s rapid increase of international participation was complemented by the attendance of China’s leading brands in the industry such as Goodbaby, Angel, Baby First, Rikang, Maky Poko, Alpha, Longchang, Huawei Toys, Muwan Toys, Kurhn Toys, Kaiqi, Yonglang, Coolbaby, Golden Baby, Guanyi, Happy Baby and Ianbaby. The domestic exhibitor clusters include Guangdong Dongguan, Shenzhen Electronic Toys, Chenghai Plastic Toys, wooden products from Yunhe of Zhejiang, Yongjia Playground Equipment, Pinghu Baby Bikes, and Baoying Education Toys from Jiangsu.

This year’s edition furthermore attracted 60,618 trade visitors (ct. 50,515 China Kids Expo 2014) including China’s largest and most influential baby chain stores (Leyou, Lollipop, Aiyingshi, etc.), online retailers (RedBaby), supermarkets (Carrefour), department stores and shopping malls (New China Children’s Store, Joy City, CRL Living Mall).

China Kids Expo is held annually since 2011 in autumn in Shanghai, China’s biggest international trade hub. The show is much more than just an expo. Each year, the hosts hold various activities such as special displays, meetings, awarding ceremonies, appraisals, round-table discussions and matchmaking sessions so that the exhibitors and audiences have opportunities to release their products or share information in the industry. This year, the organizers initiated 18 concurrent activities which provide opportunities of face-to-face communications and exchanges, including the Conference on Chinese Toys and Kids Products, the Forum on Future Development of Preschool Education, the 14th Innovative Star Competition in the Chinese Toys and Kids Products Industry, the Party of the Chinese Toys and Kids Products Industry with the 2016 Press Conference of Global Innovative Products, and World Trend in China - 2016 Global Innovative Products.

China Kids Expo will return on October 19-21, 2016 expecting even more floor space, more exhibitors and complementing concurrent activities.
